I know, we’re all impatient and want to learn spanish quickly but is it really possible to learn spanish without the years of hard slog?
It’s true that to learn Spanish quickly or speak a language fluently just like a native, is going to take concerted study, that’s in the absence of being able to move to your chosen country of course.
And wouldn’t that be wonderful? To pick up your life and settle in pastures new?
I know how perfect this can be because we did exactly that a few years ago.

Yes, we took our family from the delightful countryside of Essex and packed our belongings and rented a place in a sunny corner of southern Spain in a small Spanish pueblo.
What we couldn’t fit on the van we stored.
With three teenagers and very little Spanish between us we embarked on a most memorable journey.
This is how I can pass you some of the tips and experience that I wish I had known or had had time to put in place before we went, because I believe I have found a far more pleasurable way to learn Spanish.
Rather than trawling through verb tables and buying unwanted books that can so easily be weighed down in grammar.
This is why I firmly believe that the best way to learn Spanish for you will be unique to you.
Dig deep, become creative and you’ll find a path. In knowing that lies the key to your own personal success.
Want to learn Spanish quickly? Want a quick tip, a neat and easy place to start? Take a nice thick marker pen and a wad of those yellow sticky notes.
Now walk around your house popping a sticker on as many objects around your house as you want. Writing clearly and boldly the Spanish word.
Remember that to learn Spanish quickly you’ll need to keep your learning relevant. Say each word out loud when you read it back ensuring that you pronounce each letter clearly. In Spanish if a letter is there then it’s pronounced.
Next week take them down and find others.
That’s it! Short and sweet. To learn Spanish quickly start at the very begining and practise each day. No cheating now… if you get bored with your stickers change them.
If your Spanish is more advanced then change your one word stickers to short phrases. For example your sticker on the loo could read ‘Donde esta el servicio?’. This is a phrase you may want often and the kids can practise too!
I had a sticker on the door into the garden from January onwards which said, ‘La primavera esta a la vuelta de la esquina’. Spring is just around the corner… and sure enough it was a truly beautiful spring.
Happy Learning,
Sharon
